Uncle Bill (Dong Qiu) lives in public housing with his wife Aunt Bill (Shen Dianxia), second daughter (Li Lizhen) and youngest daughter. The married eldest daughter and son-in-law hope to move to Uncle Bill's house. However, Uncle Bill used to have a small place in his home, but now he is about to have an eldest daughter and son-in-law. In addition, the surrounding environment of the current residence is complex, which causes a lot of trouble for the wives and daughters to go in and out. Uncle Bill, who was not in a very good economic environment, decided to move in the face of unstable property prices in Hong Kong. In the process of looking for a new home, I finally found a cheap house. A family of six happily moved into their new home, thinking that they would live and work in peace and contentment. But unexpectedly, the real estate developers took a fancy to the nearby land for commercial purposes in an attempt to make exorbitant profits. The real estate developers tried to drive away Uncle Bill by despicable means, and the family decided to fight against the real estate developers with their neighbors and vowed to defend their homes.

驃叔（董驃 飾）與妻子驃嬸（沈殿霞 飾）、二女兒（李麗珍 飾）、小女兒住在公屋裡，已經結婚了的大女兒與女婿希望能搬到驃叔家同住。但本來驃叔家中就地方狹小，現在又迎來即將生育的大女兒與女婿。加上現居的周遭環境複雜，對妻子女兒們的出入造成很多的困擾。本來經濟環境不算太好的驃叔，決定在香港樓價不穩定的狀態下搬家。在尋找新家的過程中，好不容易找到了一層廉價的住房。一家六口興高采烈的搬進了新家，心想就此安居樂業了。但沒想到地產發展商看中了附近的地皮用作商業用途，企圖牟取暴利。地產商用卑鄙手段試圖趕走驃叔，驃叔一家決定與鄰居一起抵抗地產商，誓要捍衛家園。
